The Singerstrasse 21/25 apartment hotel was built on the last available and therefore highly coveted building site in Vienna's city center. Surrounded by billboards, the “bomb hole” from the Second World War was home to probably the most expensive parking spaces in Vienna (if not the world), which were available free of charge to the officials of the Procurator Fiscal's Office.
Construction of Singerstrasse 21/25 began in 1994 and was completed in mid-October 1995. With the property addresses Singerstrasse 21-25, Riemergasse 16 and Kumpfgasse 13, the last building gap in Vienna's city center was closed.
The result was an exclusive residential building with history in the heart of Vienna, built by the construction company Hofman & Maculan according to the designs of renowned architect Ernst Hoffmann. The interior, conceived by designer Stefan Umdasch, was characterized by Viennese accents, such as the “Aura” armchair, a design piece from the Wittmann collection, designed by Paolo Piva. The Singerstrasse 21/25 logo was created by the well-known graphic designer Joey Badian, who also designed the logos for Billa and Der Standard, among others.
